Luther was a true inspiration, a classy role model with a gorgeous voice. I was very saddened by his recent illness and passing. At least we know he is in a better place free of pain and sorrow.

I love all of Luther's music. It (music) was so relaxing and had a meaning behind the song that one can understand. My husband and I dance to "so amazing" as our first song during our wedding reception. Luther was indeed "So Amazing"

This fine artist departed us being the "King of Love". Luther expressed his Love through his music what a sweet harmony of love when he sang. He will be truly missed!

UNfortuantely it was only one time I have met Luther Vandross. He was at the Hammerstein Ball room with the Patti LaBelle. He was as funny as ever and as smooth as I have seen him on television. He was and still is a true icon of what we define as music. Patti is the Queen and Unfortunately she has lost her King Luther Vandross

Luther, the power of love. I can't express how much your songs have meant to me. At 20 years old, I've lost a number of family & friedns. "Dance with my Father" is a song you wrote and placed in my heart. Since your death, you have given me another way of looking at you not as just a singer but as a hero. The words "Dance with my Father"; not just in the physical, but in the spiritual when he gives us life each day, he's allowing us to "dance with him". Luther, you will always be missed, and when that day comes I'll see you again and be able to thank you. Thank you for a lifetime of blessings Luther.

I never saw him live, he never did get to Australia. Yet his influence and music didn't know geographical, cultural or language barriers. He truly was so amazing...

My favorite song of Luther's is Never Too Much. Whenever I hear it it just gets me going. Like many of Patti's songs, I can be having the worst day of all days, hear this song, and start smiling and jumping around like a three year old! Yes I am a young'n...I'm only 16 1/2, but I love and value music to the fullest so I know what the good stuff is....this is something that you can NEVER get TOO MUCH of!!!

I used to Play piano and sing background with Patti. Luther was around like 4 or 5 times over the years. I remember I was singing and playing the piano and he came over and just started clowning around with the rest of us singers. He really had a great sense of humor and rare comedic timing. I will always treasure working with him on Patti's "One Night Only".
He had a voice like no other. A rare gem. God Bless u Luther

Luther Vandross was a man that not only touched us through his music, but his caring spirit as well. I am thankful for the time we did have with him and look forward to his music legacy surpassing the ages!

Luther Vandross was the love song man, along with Barry White, in my teens.
The both added a dimention to my perception of life and love, in a way that I will never ever forget.

After seeing him in Copenhagen, Denmark, my friend and I flew to London to see him there. When he sang 'a house is not a home' we lid our lighters as the only ones. He waved at us and it made our day, well year. 'a house is not a home' is still my all time favorite song, even though 'Dance with my father' come close. I lost my own father when I was nine.

Heaven must be a fun place to be now with Luther there. He'll be missed all over the world.

Luther Vandross was, and will continuely be, a major influence on my music career. With his calm, mellow soul that he always placed in his music, he managed to do something that no other musician in this world could ever do, which is reach out to his audience (LITERALLY). Each and every single time that I have had the opportunity to see Luther in concert, I have missed it, and I was totally sad when he passed on on July 1st. He will truely be missed, and I will be sure to keep Ms. Mary Ida in my prayers. Your son meant the world to me and my music, and I thank you for sharing him with the world. I only wish that I would have had the opportunity to work with him, what joy that would have brought to me. Well, he is now singing in the choir in heaven with folks like Ray Charles and Marvin Gaye now. God bless you Ms. Mary Ida and the Vandross family.

One of the greatest voices EVER. There has never been one like him and there never will be. My fondest memory is of Luther and Patti singing together.

If This World Were Mine" and "Here & Now" are two of my favorite. My husband told me the same thing while we dated. I always felt Luther spoke for a lot of the men who could not find the words to express themselves. All a brother needed to do was slip on a Luther Vandross album, then we ladies knew his heart. Thank you Luther for sharing you heart with us in your songs. You will truly be missed. Thank you so very much.

I first discovered Mr Vandross when I was twelve yrs old. I saw him on the Arsenio Hall show singing "Power of Love" The following day I remember purchasing the cassette and playin dat mutha out. I have been a luther fanatic eversince. His songs have been the soundtrack to the greatest & not so greatest moments of my life. Through & Through his music has touched the depths of my soul. I am saddened as I never got to experience a Luther Vandross concert but I do feel blessed to have been a living witness to his legacy. Thank you Mrs Mary Ida Vandross for blessing us with such a gifted child. And Thank You Ms Patti Labelle for this opportunity to share OUR thoughts & prayers for Luther. I really do believe that when Luther said "when I say goodbye, it's never for long" he meant it......Rest in PEACE....
